Cleveland and Chicago Bus Trips

The Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) offers a Chicago and Cleveland Bus trip service as a convenient, economical, and safe way for students to return home to the Chicago and Cleveland area during official University breaks. All profits from these bus trips help support the ten $2,500 scholarships that MUSF awards each year to deserving Miami students.

Bus Trip FAQs

Yes, if there is room available on the departure trip you are requesting to change to, you are able to make that switch. Please notify musf@MiamiOH.edu as soon as possible to request said adjustment.
Yes, you are able to cancel your ticket or transfer the ticket to a different trip during the same academic calendar year. Refunds are only given for pre-paid tickets by submitting a request using this form two weeks prior to the departure date. MUSF will return $150 to the purchaser upon the timely completion of a refund request form. A $50 administrative fee will be retained for each refunded ticket. If a refund request is not submitted by the deadline, NO refund will be granted.
When you provide your email address during the billing process, you will receive a copy of the confirmation directly to said email whether it be your personal email or campus email. Be sure to input your student campus contact information into the rider section (campus email address and cell phone number). Also, check your spam email in case the message could have landed there.
Tickets go directly to the student rider’s campus email address within 24-48 hours prior to their departure. Please note that this is not an automated system. These ticketing emails are being crafted by our MUSF students and are sent out as soon as the steering committee member is able. We appreciate your patience and understanding if there are any delays in receiving your tickets. Please be sure to check your spam email as well in case the message could have landed there. MUSF students also have travel lists at each departure to confirm ticket status and allow student riders on the bus.
Yes. While we prefer that you utilize our online ticketing system, you are welcome to call the Alumni Office to purchase a ticket if you need assistance. Please note that we will answer your calls when able, but we may need to return your call so leave a detailed message. Phones are monitored Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Please call (513) 529-5957.
Yes, if you are no longer in need of a ticket and prefer to transfer it to someone else versus request a refund, you may do so. Please note that we do not have any involvement in these interactions; we do not have a way to know who may be in need of a ticket so you must handle this interaction personally. Once it is confirmed that one student is willing to transfer to another, we are able to process that change once we have confirmation from both parties.
No, one-way tickets are not sold. But, please note that you can purchase a round-trip ticket and utilize the ticket as such. Please be sure to send a message to musf@MiamiOH.edu if you know which leg of the trip you won’t be taking so they can note it on their records and aren’t waiting on you.
MUSF students begin calling/texting student riders who have not checked in for a bus trip 5 minutes prior to the departure time. If you answer the call or text and are within 5 minutes of arriving at the bus departure location, we will ensure you board the bus. If you do not answer or will be running later than 5 minutes after the set departure time, the bus will depart without you.
If trips are sold out, you can request to be added to the wait list by completing the wait list form located on the ticketing page. You will be notified by a MUSF member if a spot becomes available and you are able to purchase a ticket.
Tickets for the next academic year do not become available until early August prior to school start. Please keep an eye out on our website for when those become available or follow Miami University Student Foundation on Facebook or Instagram (@musf1809) in order to see updates on when ticketing pages are live.
No! If your student would like to travel with a friend or utilize this service for another reason, they are still welcome to ride our buses. There is no requirement for them to be from a certain area to utilize the ticket.
Yes, there is a restroom located at the back of the bus. You are welcome to utilize that during the trip. Buses will also make stops during the trip, so please be clear with your driver on when those will occur if necessary.
Yes, typically buses are equipped with Wi-Fi and you are able to get that information when you board the bus. Be aware that sometimes when driving through rural areas these hotspots aren’t always reliable so please be patient and know that the bus driver has no control over this.
Let us know! Reach out to musf@MiamiOH.edu or call us at (513) 529-9988 if you have any questions or concerns. This email and voicemail box is monitored by our Steering Committee members and they will answer you as soon as they are able. Please note that these are busy students also studying on campus though, so we appreciate your patience!
