Alumni Book Club

You're invited to join the Miami University Alumni Book Club! In this online community, Miami alumni can connect and enjoy books related to lifelong learning, social issues, literature, psychology and other user-submitted ideas. There is no cost to participate – you just have to get a copy of the book to enjoy. Get started today - sign up online.

How it works:

The book club connects readers through a private online forum where they can discuss the current book and network with each other. The group spends two months on each book, so you have plenty of time to read. You can sign up and learn more online.

What we've read so far:

"Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine" by Gail Honeyman
"The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics" by Daniel James Brown
"The Happiness Project: Or. Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun" by Gretchen Rubin
"A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II" by Sonia Purnell
"Ask Again, Yes: a novel" by Mary Beth Kearne
"Where the Crawdad's Sing" by Delia Owens
"A Gentleman in Moscow" by Amor Towles
"Educated: a memoir" by Tara Westover

Why should you join?

There are three main reasons we hope you’ll be excited to participate in our book club:

  1. Connect with fellow Miamians
  2. Be a part of a lifelong learning community, and
  3. Reading is good for you!

Our book club is managed by PBC Guru, a company that coordinates professional book clubs for companies and alumni associations. PBC Guru moderates the group to help make this program a great experience for all participants.
