The Miami University Love and Honor 5K run celebrates Homecoming, students, alumni, the Miami community and runners everywhere on a fun course.

This year’s race will take place on the evening of Friday, Sept. 6, and be run throughout Miami University’s campus.

The event will help raise money for student scholarships, while working with other student organizations to make the event a success and features many amazing campus members. From new students to alumni to community members, this race is perfect for anyone looking for a fun, fast 5K.

Participants will receive a t-shirt and swag bag. Cost is $25. Please register by Sept. 4. You can also register on-site on race day for $30 per person. Shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for on-site registrations.

Your registration fee will be donated to the organization of your choice. Here are the organizations to choose from when you register:

  • Best Buddies is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by fostering inclusion. Miami University’s chapter of Best Buddies pairs college students with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to form genuine and meaningful friendships. Money raised by Best Buddies will go toward running chapter events that work to promote growth in these lifelong relationships.

  • Miami University Student Foundation is a student organization dedicated to developing and providing scholarships to Miami students. MUSF also grows student leaders, fulfills campus needs and strengthens the Miami community through events that celebrate timeless Miami traditions. Money raised by MUSF will go toward supporting student scholarships so students can have the opportunity to have the amazing Miami Experience that everyone who attends this school can attest to.

  • Paws for a Cause Miami is a student organization that assists in the socializing and training of service dogs. Our organization works to educate the public about service dogs and individuals with disabilities through fundraising and awareness events. The mission of our organization is to do "whatevFUR" it takes to improve the lives of those in the disability community. Money raised by Paws for A Cause Miami will go toward funding a service dog park on Miami’s campus.

  • Phi Sigma Pi is a gender and major-inclusive National Honors Fraternity built upon Scholarship, Leadership and Fellowship. Our local philanthropy is the BEEPS Foundation, which was founded in honor of one of our late brothers, Rebecca "Beeps" Eldemire. The BEEPS Foundation, or the Betterment for Environmental and Earth Protection Foundation, works to promote environmental sustainability, animal rights and protection of the environment.
