Come out and make a difference!

We appreciate your help in meeting the needs of the Metroparks. We will be at the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation removing invasive honeysuckle plants. The event will be from 9 a.m.-noon. Meet at the Arborview Picnic Shelter.

Supplies will be furnished but with a limited inventory of work gloves. Please bring your own.

What to bring/wear

Required: NO exceptions/non-negotiable

  • Closed-toed sturdy shoes (absolutely no sandals).
  • Pants and shirts with long sleeves (no exposed ankles or arms to prevent poison ivy, reduce exposure to ticks and scratches)

Strongly Suggested

  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing you don’t mind getting dirty, stained or wet (layers recommended),
  • Bring filled water bottles and a snack
  • Consider sunscreen and bug spray

Rain plan

  • Project can be completed in light rain as long as there is no lightning and participants are dressed appropriately. Please call site leaders directly if concerned about weather.

Liability requirement

  • Each volunteer will be required to submit an online waiver before participating. The waiver will be sent out a few weeks before the project date.
  • These are required before getting started!
