Giving societies

All that Miami University is today has been made possible by the vision and support of those who have come before us.

That tradition is celebrated through Miami's Red Brick Society, Prodesse Society, and the Brice Society – all of which have been established to recognize the generosity of Miami's alumni, parents, and friends.

Red Brick Society

Members of the Red Brick Society receive access to the Red Brick Society hotline, special recognition and communications, invitations to exclusive events, and access to the Red Brick Society Report.

Prodesse Society

Miami seal at the Hub

Miami University’s official motto, Prodesse Quam Conspici, first appeared on University diplomas in 1826. Its English equivalent, “To achieve without being conspicuous,” remains a fitting description of both the ambition and the humility exhibited by Miami’s alumni. Miami founded the Prodesse Society in 1984 in order to advance the goals of the institution, and its members have made a meaningful difference by enriching the academic community and invigorating campus life.
