We need your help to break a world record!

Come together and celebrate the Bicentennial year with other Miami couples for a Miami Merger Moment at Alumni Weekend 2009! Join hundreds of couples on Saturday, June 20 at 4:15 pm at the Upham Arch.

Not a Merger? “Acquisitions” (a Miamian married to a non- Miamian) are welcome to join our effort to break this world record.

This free event is something you won’t want to miss. Not many can say they are part of a world record! There will be giveaways, merger t-shirt sales, and even the conclusion of an actual wedding ceremony between two 2009 grads. So join us at the Upham Arch at 4:15 on Saturday (registration will begin at 3:30) for a fun and light hearted event that will surely go down in the Miami history books (as well as the Guinness book).

We’ll gather for a group photo, a Countdown to a Kiss and a fun chance to renew your marriage vows as we seek to break the current Guinness World Record for the most couples simultaneously renewing their wedding vows (current record is 624 couples, set in Pittsburgh, PA in 2008).

If you did not preregister, it's not too late to participate.  You can still sign up at the Upham Arch on Saturday, June 20 at 2:30 p.m.

You will need provide a copy of your marriage certificate, so we can present this to Guinness to make our record official.

Those who participate in the Miami Merger Moment will receive a coupon for discounts at the Marcum Conference Center & Miami Inn for a future visit to campus. What a great way to celebrate your anniversary, Valentine’s Day or some other special weekend.

Merger t-shirts will be on sale at the Merger Moment event as well as the Merger Moment table at the Welcome Center.  Price: $15.00 ($13.50 for dues-paying members).
