Miami University Alumni Association will host their annual awards banquet on Thursday, October 22 during homecoming weekend.  The award recipients will be recognized at the banquet which will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room at Shriver Center. Tickets are $35. To reserve, call Toni Gebhart at 513-529-8137.


Homecoming 2009 Parade

The Homecoming parade will take place on Friday, October 23.  It will begin uptown on the west end of High Street, going down Tallawanda to Millett and be followed by a pep rally and BBQ on Millett's lawn.


Homecoming LegacyFest BBQ and Concert

Millett Lawn
Friday night’s LegacyFest starts at 6 p.m. with a BBQ on the Millett lawn, followed by a pep rally at 7 p.m.

Benny Golson, tenor sax, will take to the stage at 8 p.m. in Millett along with Miami’s marching band, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, combined choirs, and Talawanda High School and Middle School bands and choirs. They will perform music commissioned for the Bicentennial as well as familiar favorites.

Performance and barbeque tickets are available at the Shriver Center Box Office, 513-529-3200.  Performance tickets are $20 Adults, $19 Seniors, $10 Student/Youth.  Pulled pork or chicken barbeque platters with kettle chips and cole slaw are $8; Bicentennial Birthday Cupcakes are $2. Pre-game atmosphere at its best...the food, live music and the games! The Bicentennial Homecoming Tailgate Town is packed with Miami’s talented student performers including the Misfitz, Miami University’s Gospel Choir (MUGS), interactive games, Miami Cheerleaders, Miami Dance Team, Swoop, face painting, and more!

Alumni Band Performance at Homecoming 2009
The Alumni Band will pay tribute to Miami’s 200 years by assembling 200 MARCHERS IN 2009, the largest group ever to march at Homecoming.  Plans are being made for performances at the Friday Night Hockey game as well as the Football game on Saturday.  A special addition to this year's program is the Munchkin Miami Marchers program.
