Alumni Weekend - Register Today!
The Alumni Weekend registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. on June 4, 2015.

This is a TENTATIVE schedule for Alumni Weekend 2015.  Times, locations and events are subject to change.  Continue to check the schedule for the most up-to-date information about the Alumni Weekend 2015 schedule.

6 a.m.-11 p.m.
Recreational Sports Center
(Fitness center, indoor track, basketball courts, exercise fitness class rooms, aquatic center, rock climbing wall, etc.)
Don't want to miss your daily workout? You won't have to...the Miami Recreational Sport Center (The Rec) will be FREE to Alumni Weekend attendees!

  • Free access to the Rec Center June 11-14 for Alumni Weekend. Alumni Weekend badge MUST be presented to gain access. There is a large swim meet that weekend and access to the facility is controlled.
  • If guests would like to climb the Climbing Wall, it is $3.00 per person per climb.
  • If guests would like to take a Group Fitness class, it is $15.00 per person per class.
  • Any children 14 years old and under require an adult present and in the same activity area as that child at all times. They cannot be left alone in the facility for any reason.
  • Children ages 15-17 must have an adult present to sign them in but do not have to stay with them. The Alumni Weekend badge must still be presented for the free access.

Registration (Goggin Ice Center)
Your first stop at Alumni Weekend is the Goggin Ice Center to check in at the Welcome Center. Pick up your registration packet, browse the hospitality booths as well as the Alumni Shop for the latest in alumni merchandise and grab a Tuffy’s toasted roll to get your first taste of Miami nostalgia for the weekend!

After 6:00 p.m., check-in will be at the Anderson Hall front desk. This is only for housing assignments. Registration packets need to be picked up at Registration Headquarters in the Goggin Ice Center.

1-3 p.m.
Class of 1965 Meet & Greet
 (Goggin Ice Center)
Start the 50-year celebrations at the Class of 1965 Meet & Greet at Goggin Ice Center. This is a great opportunity to get reacquainted with your classmates in anticipation of the rest of the weekend’s events!

5:30 p.m.
Class of 1965 Reception & Dinner

(Shriver Center, Chi Omega Plaza (corner of Maple St and Spring St) - Reception; Shriver Center, Dolibois Rooms - Dinner)
In the first of many special events planned to celebrate the newest 50-year reunion class, the Class of 1965 will gather in the Shriver Center Multi-Purpose Room for a night of fine dining, music and Miami nostalgia. President David Hodge also will present each member of the Class of 1965 with a 50-year medallion during a special ceremony at dinner.

Grab a breakfast bag, which includes a pastry, fruit and coffee/juice, and make your way to the buses for the exclusive Class of 1965 Campus Tour.  It will be the perfect start to a day full of events on and off campus!

Following Friday morning’s "Grab and Go" breakfast, members of the University Advancement Staff and the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) will host a combined bus and walking tour of campus for the Class of 1965. See what’s new and what’s stayed the same after 50 years!

Alumni College Opening Lecture

(Armstrong Student Center, Wilks Theatre - 1st Floor)
Bob Keller ’73, former Miami University architect and university planner, will trace the development of Miami’s campus through the decades to the campus we have today. You’ll also get a special sneak peek of what’s being planned for the future of our campus over the next 20 years and beyond.

With so many new changes coming to Miami’s campus, who better to host a tour than students who are experiencing these changes as they happen? The Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) will lead campus tours throughout the day, so take this opportunity to revisit some of your favorite spots and learn about Miami’s future landmarks!

Class of 1965 Luncheon

After the Opening Lecture, join your classmates for a luncheon exclusively for the Class of 1965. This will be a chance to catch up with more of your classmates and hear from current students who will be seated at each table during lunch.

Class of 1965 Armstrong Student Center Tour

This is the Class of 1965’s opportunity to get a tour of the newest building on Miami’s Campus. Join the tour to learn about this wonderful building and all it has to offer Miami students.

Class of 1955 Dinner

Celebrate your 60-year reunion with the Class of 1955 at a special reception to be held in Dolibois Room A of the Shriver Center. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available for drinks.
($25 per person)

Class of 1960 Dinner

Celebrate your 55-year reunion with the Class of 1960 at a special reception to be held in Dolibois Room C of the Shriver Center. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available for drinks.
($25 per person)

Class of 1965 FIJI Dinner
(Goggin Ice Center, Goggin Club Room – Top Floor)
Phi Gamma Delta brothers of the Class of 1965 gather for a reunion of the Mu Upsilon Chapter, concurrent with Miami’s annual Alumni Weekend and the Golden Anniversary of the Class of 1965.  This celebration dinner will be a time to reconnect with old friends and hear about the future of the chapter with a special guest speaker.  Don’t miss this special opportunity to celebrate with your FIJI brothers.  The evening includes a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, dinner & dessert and a hosted bar.
($30 per person, meal choice of beef or chicken)

Registration with a Twist (Memorial Park, Uptown Oxford)
We don’t want you to miss any of the action so we are moving Alumni Weekend registration and housing check-in to Memorial Park in Uptown Oxford on Friday night. Stop by to pick up your registration packet and housing assignment. A DJ will be spinning some tunes; there will be bubble pools and an inflatable obstacle course for kids; and there will be corn hole boards too. (After 8:30 p.m., housing only check-in is located at Anderson Hall. Registration packets need to be picked up at Registration Headquarters in the Goggin Ice Center on Saturday morning.) If there is inclement weather, Registration will remain in Goggin and there will be no Registration with a Twist in Memorial Park.  But the reunion classes and groups will still gather in the local establishments for their Reunion Class/Groups Gathering Parties.

6 p.m.
Delta Chi Reunion Dinner (Delta Chi House, 131 E. Withrow St.)
All Delta Chi alumni are invited to the Delta Chi chapter house for a reunion dinner honoring the brothers from the Class of 1965.  This is a great chance to connect with fellow Delta Chi’s and hear about the great things that the Miami Chapter is doing in 2015!

Class of 1990 Reunion Party
(Shriver Center, Heritage Room)
There is no better way to start Alumni Weekend than a reunion party with your classmates.  Start your evening at this party and then make your way Uptown to continue the celebration.  This party includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and a hosted bar.
($20 per person)

Class of 1965 Reunion Party
 (Armstrong Student Center, Bob & Doris ’52 Pulley Diner)
New this year…The 50-year reunion class will gather at the Bob & Doris ’52 Pulley Diner for their reunion party.  Enjoy this new space on campus, a space that looks like an old-time diner, complete with booths and a soda fountain bar.  Typical diner food will be served including, but not limited to, sliders, steak sandwiches, onion rings, fries, milk shakes, and, of course, toasted rolls. There will also be a cash bar available.
($10 per person)

Reunion Class/Reunion Group Gathering Parties

The following class years and reunion groups are gathering at the listed Uptown establishments to start their evening in Oxford. These are gathering points for classes and groups but they are not exclusive to those classes or groups. So you may have a wide range of alumni at your location. Be on the look-out for our Prize Patrol. They will stop by the establishments to hand out some Miami prizes.

After a 6 year hiatus, the Alumni Weekend 5K is back and better than ever.  Take this opportunity to run on your beautiful campus and see the many changes and relive so many wonderful memories.  Each registered runner will receive a Toasted Roll Run/Walk 5K technical shirt and a toasted roll at the end of the race.  Join us as we revive this 5K tradition.
($20 per person)

Toasted Roll FUN Run
– For Kids 12 & Under (Goggin Ice Center, Main Lobby)
A fun twist on the Toasted Roll 5K…this is for the little tykes who want to expend some energy and have fun.  Each participant will run a small course (in the area right outside of Goggin) that includes activity stations. Each activity station must be completed before the participant can move to the next station on the course…or at least give their best effort to complete the task.  Examples of activities station may be a small obstacle course, a jumping jacks station, a carry-an-egg-on-a-spoon station, or something else along those lines.  Each participant will receive a Toasted Roll Run/Walk 5K shirt and a toasted roll at the end of the race.

Progressive Lunch Experience

The progressive lunch experience will be just that…an experience. Fitted with a chef’s hat and coat, you will not only sample the food—you will also take part in cooking demonstrations. After the final stop of this lunch experience, participants will have the option to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the dining facility’s kitchen—that’s right, the one kitchen that services all seven restaurants! You will also receive a Miami Recipes cookbook and other items from the demonstrations that you will be able to take home with you.  The experience starts PROMPTLY at 11:45 a.m. and if you are late you may miss one of the stations.

This annual luncheon in the Shriver Center Multi-Purpose Room brings together Miamians who graduated at least 50 years ago—the “wisest” of Miami’s alumni! In celebration of their golden anniversary during Alumni Weekend 2015, the Class of 1965 will be welcomed into the Hughes Society with a special induction ceremony during the luncheon.

Calling all alumni! Alumni Weekend’s traditional Parade of Classes brings alumni of all ages together at the Hub, where you’ll meet up with your classmates and parade to the Reunion Tent Area for MiamiFest. Wear your Red and White and prepare to make some noise for this display of Miami pride!

MiamiFest
 (Slant Walk)
Alumni Weekend culminates in MiamiFest, a huge outdoor party complete with food, music and fun for Miamians of all ages! Moving from its traditional spot in Central Quad, MiamiFest will be held on Slant Walk, the symbolic heart of Miami’s campus.
MiamiFest will also feature the “Taste of Miami” setup, where you’ll get to pick and choose your favorite culinary traditions, and featured entertainment will include the Campus Owls Tribute Band, and a DJ.
If you’re bringing the kids, KidsZone will be open from 6:30-9:30 p.m. with plenty of outdoor activities for those under the age of 12.
