Record number of students apply for a Miami University education >>
Updated figures: 24,801 students applied for the fall 2014 semester at Miami University's Oxford campus. That number, as of Tuesday, Feb. 4, continues to grow as the university finishes processing applications submitted for the Feb. 1 final application deadline. It exceeds Miami's fall 2013 record-breaking count of 22,520.

Campaign For Love and Honor announces record total >>
The books have closed, the numbers are in, and the campaign has been declared a resounding success. The final total is $535,610,796 with more than 105,000 alumni, parents, friends, corporations and foundations contributing.

Students experience winter term from A-Z >>
Miami is the first public university in Ohio to offer a winter term. Held for the first time this year, the three-week term gave students a chance to enrich their academic experiences through study abroad, completing a workshop or internship, conducting research or taking additional on-campus or online courses.

A golden opportunity: Miami geologist studies world’s largest single crystals of gold >>
The world's largest single crystals of gold were hosted at Miami's Shideler Hall during winter term. Mineralogist John Rakovan – the first scientist to examine the crystals for authenticity – has been studying the crystals for several years with colleagues Heinz Nakotte and Sven Vogel of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Neutron Science Center.
