  • Jay Leno performs for Parents’ Weekend 1992
  • Redskins defeat Western Michigan 20-7 for Homecoming 1992
  • Slobberfest 1993 is cancelled due to pressure from the city of Oxford
  • Paul G. Risser arrives in Oxford on January 3, 1993. He is inaugurated as Miami’s new president on April 16, 1993

Homecoming `93

  • First Run opens Uptown, occupying the Miami Western Theatre building
  • Classes are cancelled for two days in January 1994 due to sub-zero temperatures. This was the first time classes were cancelled due to weather since the blizzard of 1978
  • James Taylor plays Millett Hall
  • Alumnus P.J. O’Rourke speaks at Miami
  • Billings Natatorium hosts its last swim meet, February 1994
Senior Year 1994-1995
  • Gladys Knight performs during Parent’s Weekend
  • Recreational Sports Center opens

  • Spring Street Market opens in lower level of Shriver Center
  • Wal-Mart opens in Oxford
  • Big Head Todd and the Monsters, LIVE, and the Allman Brothers play at Millett Hall
  • New ID cards are introduced
